Servecast, the leading provider of broadband
TV solutions to the sports and media sectors is
delighted to announce that Sky News has commenced
live streaming of its breaking news service on
its website using Servecast's advanced streaming

With Servecast's Media Studio platform, Sky News
now offers free access to key, live news events

allowing viewers to watch it on their home or
work computer. In addition to the online breaking

to deliver video streaming of other features such
as the news headlines, weather updates and the
Sky News current top stories. In addition, an
audio version of Sky News is now available on
the website.
Servecast is also the long term streaming partner
for Sky Sports and therefore was the natural choice
for Sky News to implement their video streaming
service. Servecast manages the Sky Sports Video

of the UK Premiership and includes top clubs such
as Arsenal FC and Chelsea FC. Servecast has also
provided live streaming of major sporting events

The launch of the new video streaming services
for Sky News is part of an overall strategy to
grow the broadcaster's online services to adapt
to changing viewing habits. With the advent of
mass access to broadband both at home and at work
combined with hectic lifestyles, demand for online
news broadcasting is growing by the minute.
Speaking today, Steve Bennedik, Editor of Sky
News Networked Media, said: "We are pleased
to be teaming up with Servecast to provide another
exciting service for users of Sky News online
around the world. We offer free access to key,
live events such as news conferences, ceremonies

the live events we also stream other features,
such as the headlines, weather and Sky News' current
top story. In addition, we also provide an audio
version of Sky News."
Also speaking today, Kevin Quinn, Servecast Founder
