Servecast, the leading broadband video specialists
for the sports and media industries, are delighted
to announce that they have signed a new deal with
Scottish Premierleague Club, Celtic for advanced
video streaming services until the end of the
2008/2009 season.
Having worked together in the past on the broadband
video service for www.celticfc.net,
this new deal cements Servecast's ongoing relationship
with Celtic as they move forward with a renewed
partnership.
Servecast will provide all streaming services
for Celtic 's broadband video subscription service,
Channel 67 Online+, by delivering on-demand, live
content and simulated live channels over the Celtic
website.
The service will offer a mixture of delayed and
live coverage of games as well as a host of value
added premium video content that will be available
exclusively online in the form of 24/7 channels.
Content will include video-clips of interviews
and match highlights as well as live video broadcasts
of all Celtic Premierleague and domestic cup games
outside of the UK and Ireland using Servecast's
advanced geo-blocking system.
As part of the subscription service, live audio
commentary of all games will be made available
to Channel 67 Online subscribers regardless of
their location.
To kick start their new partnership, Celtic will
attend Servecast's New Media Sportscasting Summit
on March 1st - an annual Servecast conference
which address the critical issues facing sports
clubs, organisations and broadcasters with respect
to their new media strategies. At the event Celtic
will join seven of the other remaining UEFA Champions
League including FC Barcelona, Liverpool FC, Arsenal,
Chelsea, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Real
Madrid to share their experiences in growing successful
broadband video services over football websites.
Speaking today Tony Hamilton, Head Of Multimedia,
from Celtic said: "We are very committed
to the development of Channel 67 in order to offer
Celtic supporters the most complete and flexible
online video service. We recognise that Servecast
provide the most sophisticated broadband video
solutions for football clubs based on their extensive
experience with other UK and European teams. We
are confident that our partnership with Servecast
will ensure the future success of Channel 67 and
enable us to offer a top class broadband video
service to our fans. Celtic were first to broadcast
online in 1999 and we're hopeful that this agreement
will allow us to continue to lead the way for
our worldwide fan base"
Also speaking today, Paul Dunn, Director of Business
Development at Servecast said: "We are delighted
to work again with Celtic and we are committed
to the development of its broadband video service
to an increasing subscriber base. Our renewed
partnership reflects Celtic's acknowledgement
of our strengths and expertise in providing broadband
video solutions for football clubs and other sports."
