Servecast and Arsenal today announced that live
broadband video coverage of all Arsenals' pre
season friendly matches will be made available
over Arsenal TV Online, the club's broadband subscription
service. The live coverage commenced on July 15th
with the friendly game against Barnet. Last weekend
saw the live broadband coverage of the high profile
Dennis Bergkamp testimonial game against Ajax
at the new Emirates Stadium. Other matches made
available over broadband during July and August
include the games against Mattersburg, Schwadorf
and Alkmaar. In addition to the live match coverage
of the pre-season friendlies, Servecast will enable
the Arsenal TV Online reporting team to deliver
exclusive news and interviews from the pre-season
training camp in Austria, plus reaction from Wenger
and his players after overseas friendlies over
the broadband service.
Servecast has been the exclusive streaming media
partner for Arsenal since 2002 and works closely
with the club to enhance its broadband offering
and grow subscriptions to Arsenal TV Online. The
launch of live pre-season friendly games over
broadband is a key element of an overall strategy
to develop Arsenal TV Online and attract increased
subscribers to the service. The Servecast Media
Studio platform enables Arsenal to deliver live
and archive match footage, player interviews,
press conferences and match highlights to fans
anywhere in the world. The ability to offer exclusive
live content such as the pre season friendly matches
adds significant value to the service.
Speaking today, Richard Glover, Head of Operations
for Arsenal TV Online said "The provision
of live content is a key subscription driver for
us and has been vital to the recent success of
Arsenal TV Online. With fans distributed all over
the world, there is a huge audience for live coverage
of Arsenal's pre-season games, via broadband.
Thus far we have successfully shown two warm-up
games live on Arsenal TV Online and have seen
a large upsurge in subscribers on the back of
this. With Servecast's continued support and advanced
streaming solution, we are confident our fans
will be very satisfied with the remaining live
pre-season match coverage."
Also speaking today, Darach Deehan, CEO of Servecast
said "Fans are looking for more and more
content online and the ability to provide live
broadband coverage of pre season friendly matches
is becoming increasingly important for football
clubs. It is particularly important to appeal
to fans overseas and as a catalyst to grow broadband
subscriptions. We are delighted to help Arsenal,
one of the top Premiership soccer clubs with a
huge global following, to further develop its
offering of live content on Arsenal TV Online."
