Servecast, Europe's leading specialist supplier
of broadband video solutions to the sports industry,
is delighted to announce that it will host its
second New Media Sportscasting Summit in the Emirates
Stadium in London on March 1st 2007. Following
the success of the inaugural event in March 2006
which took place in Dublin, Servecast plan to
move the event to London and build on the themes
and issues surrounding new media for sport that
were explored at the first event. The Servecast
Summit will see some of Servecast's high profile
clients as Keynote speakers such as FC Barcelona,
Arsenal FC and Sky Sports come together to discuss
the burning issues when implementing a new media
strategy including the most effective promotion
strategies, recruiting & retaining subscribers,
the implications for rights negotiations and how
to use video search engines to complement online
TV services.
By hosting their annual Summit, Servecast aims
to ensure the success of existing & future
clients through leveraging knowledge of best business
practice for new media sportscasting and facilitating
business relationships in the forum of the Summit.
The one-day event will explore the commercial
opportunities, technical developments and emerging
future trends for delivering sports content to
audiences via broadband and mobile devices.
The attendees will be a combination of sports
rights owners and sports bodies, principally those
responsible for implementing and managing streaming
media solutions within their respective organisations.
The conference provides a platform for these delegates
to share experiences and to learn what has and
hasn't worked for various sports clubs, organisations
& broadcasters in terms of New Media solutions.
Speaking today Darach Deehan, CEO of Servecast
said "Technology is forcing change in sport
like never before. New-Media Sportscasting is
becoming increasingly important to the sports
industry as part of the marketing mix ensuring
brand development and introducing new channels
for revenue growth. Through our focus on sports,
Servecast has developed a deep partnership network
with major broadcasters, clubs and sporting bodies,
the online betting industry, technology providers
and content syndication partners. The purpose
of our event is to leverage these partnerships
to ensure optimal business success for our customers
and the industry as a whole."
Servecast's New Media Sportscasting Summit is
an industry-led non-commercial event and the main
objective is to help delegates to gain a broader
understanding of the best possible technical and
commercial practises for broadcasting sports content
over IP enabled networks such as Broadband Internet
