SERVECAST continued to reaffirm their position
as Europe's leading provider of advanced broadband
video solutions by hosting their hugely successful
second annual New Media SportsCasting Summit at
the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal FC, yesterday.
Servecast announced a new two-year agreement
for advanced video streaming services with Scottish
Premier League club Glasgow Celtic. While FC Barcelona
presented their plans for their soon to be launched
broadband video service 'Barça TV Online'
powered by Servecast.
And in front of a packed audience of over 140
sport and broadcaster delegates, Servecast chief
executive Darach Deehan also unveiled a new relationship
to bring a football broadband video subscription
service to the world's largest football website
Goal.com.
Existing Servecast clients Arsenal FC, Everton
FC and Sky Sports each presented on their experiences
and success in delivering broadband video solutions.
O2 revealed their plans to integrate sports video
over I-mode. Google Video presented on 'Videocracy'
and the role that Goolge Video plays in the new
media revolution. Betfair closed the day with
an excellent overview of their new media strategy
and the how they integrate the Betfair service
with online and mobile sports video.
High profile attendees included exactly half
of the current Champions League last 16 teams-
including European club champions Barcelona, Real
Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester, Liverpool, Arsenal,
Internazionale and Glasgow Celtic.

all represented at the event.
The FA Premier League and the Bundesliga were
among the leading European football leagues represented,
along with the International Sailing Federation,
International Horse Racing and EuroLeague Basketball.
The Servecast New Media conference addressed
the critical issues facing sports clubs, organisations
and broadcasters with respect to their new media
strategies. The conference centred on the new
media landscape for sport and TV, online video
search engine strategies, the emerging role of
mobile video and the opportunities of integrating
online gambling.
The objective of the conference was to bring

in growing successful broadband video services
including the most effective promotion strategies,
recruiting & retaining subscribers, the implications
for rights negotiations and how to use video search
engines to complement online TV services.
