Servecast, leading provider of advanced sports
webcasting solutions, today announced at Sportel
Monaco, the annual international Sports and Media
convention that FC Barcelona has chosen Servecast
to deliver its broadband video service. Barça
TV Online will be powered by Servecast's advanced
Media Studio platform to deliver a top class broadband
video experience to Barça fans worldwide.
The Barça TV Online service will provide
a mixture of delayed and live coverage of football
matches. The majority of the online video content
will be similar to that broadcast over the club's
TV channel, Barça TV.
Speaking today, Darach Deehan, CEO of Servecast
said "We are delighted to work with FC Barcelona,
one of the most popular and global soccer brands,
in creating a sophisticated and highly valuable
broadband video service. Through our experience
with other major soccer brands such as Manchester
United, Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC as well as
our expertise across other sports such as horse
racing, rugby, hockey, tennis and cycling, Servecast
have developed a best of breed solution to deliver
the most advanced broadband video services today
that reflects the high demands of functionality,
scalability and customer service to ensure commercial
success. We are committed to helping FC Barcelona
to reach its absolute maximum potential to grow
subscribers to and revenues from Barça
TV Online."
As part of the service, Servecast will design,
build and setup the complete subscription and
delivery platform for Barça TV online.
Servecast will create a branded viewing console
consistent with the new Barcelona website. The
payment interface and security/protection systems
are implemented by Servecast and the club is provided
with geo-targeting to control delivery of content
to different locations around the world. FC Barcelona
will also be provided with Servecast's Media Studio
CMS, a sophisticated content management tool to
provide complete control over the addition and
editing of content to Barça TV online.
Media Studio CRM will provide access to online
statistics to analyse subscriber behaviour and
devise future promotional campaigns based on this
information.
Servecast made this announcement on the first
day of Sportel Monaco, a four day sports TV and
rights convention where all of the key players
involved with aspects of international sports
broadcasting, sports content and sports images
convene to do business and learn more about today's
challenges and opportunities in the growing field
of Sports, Television and New Media.
