Servecast selected as provider of online broadcasting services
for EU Presidency
Dublin, Ireland - August 28, 2003
Servecast Limited, the leading international provider of
webcasting solutions today announced that it has been selected
by the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs as the online broadcasting
service provider for Ireland's presidency of the European
Union in the first half of 2004.
The Department will broadcast a range of press conferences
and other events to a global audience using Servecast's software
platform, broadcast services and delivery infrastructure.
The agreement is part of an initiative to build awareness
of the work which will be undertaken by the Irish Government
and its European partners during the presidency. It will be
accompanied by a significant investment in an official website
(www.eu2004.ie), which is to be built and programme managed
by Labyrinth, the web solutions division of Esat BT. The web
site will be the primary channel for communicating the activities
of the presidency.
"We are delighted to be involved in this project, which
marks a significant commitment to ensuring transparent communications
during Ireland's presidency of the EU next year", said
Kevin Quinn, founder of Servecast. "Webcasting is an
ideal medium for reaching a diverse audience both at home
and internationally and our service will ensure that a high
quality experience is delivered to the target audience."
