Racing broadcaster At The Races and leading broadband
video specialist Servecast have launched a 2,000-race
archive targeted at broadband horseracing fans
and punters.
Visitors to www.attheraces.com
can access the archive, which covers racing from
the 28 UK and 27 Irish racecourses broadcast on
the At The Races channel since 1 December 2004.
The archive is interlinked with the website's
results database to enable users to call up individual
races whilst researching form.
It is the first time both British and Irish races
have been available as part of a video archive
of this size and with approximately 7,000 races
added to the library each year it will offer an
unrivalled service in terms of the number of races
covered.
Matthew Imi, Chief Executive of At The Races,
said: "The launch of our broadband archive
is the most significant development for online
form students in the last decade. It is the ultimate
form research tool and will be invaluable for
anyone who takes their betting seriously. With
the spread of broadband increasing rapidly, our
website will be reaching out to an ever-increasing
number of racing fans and punters looking to give
themselves an extra edge."
Darach Deehan, Chief Executive of Servecast,
said: "The launch of this service is an excellent
example of how the rapid increase in broadband
penetration provides opportunities for premium
content owners such as At The Races to build successful
online business models based on broadband video.
We are delighted to be associated with this innovative
service and have no doubt that it will be a tremendous
success."
Initially, the broadband archive is intended
as an aid to form research and races will be available
approximately 48 hours after being run. However,
it is hoped that this time will be reduced as
new developments are brought online during the
summer.
All races shown on the At The Races channel during
October and November are currently being added
to the archive, together with selected major Flat
races broadcast during 2004 including the entire
Royal Ascot meeting.
